The business travel staples!

It is a herculean task to pack and travel light, and more so when it comes to a business trip! We're going to make this a little easier on you by putting together a list of travel staples for any of those work trips that might be just around the corner.

The travel bag
Let's kick start this list with nothing other than the travel bag! Carrying the right luggage and bag is more important than you think.
A laptop satchel is definitely a no-brainer, along with either a duffel bag, which works as your overnight business bag. For longer work trips, it is always advisable to go for a larger trolley bag in order to avoid carrying multiple bags.

Tip 1: Do not put off your packing until the last minute.
This could lead you to miss out on some basic necessities and travel wardrobe essentials, more importantly your work and travel documents.

The business suit
When you're travelling for business, carrying business suits is inevitable. The best way to travel light is to keep it to a bare minimum of one or two suits, depending on the number of days. It can be paired with different trousers and shirts to create variations of the looks.

Tip 2: Wear your blazer while travelling.
This way you save up on luggage space and can avoid large creases and folds on the blazer. It could even be worn over a polo neck or casual t- shirt.

The important additions
Apart from the basic formal shirts and trousers, a couple of casual t-shirts and polo neck t- shirts could go a long way. Accessories don't take much space so there is no reason to elaborate on that topic. But it goes without saying that your ties, pocket squares, shades, belt and watch are all must haves among your travel staples.

Tip 3: Stick to neutral shades
If you absolutely must, you can always add colour to your travel staples, especially if you find yourself with a little extra luggage space. But if space is a problem, stick to neutral shades. This makes it easier to mix and match outfits so that a bare minimum number of outfits will get you through the entire trip.

The footwear
Footwear is something that does take up a lot of space. So it's best to carry just one formal shoe and one pair of slip- ons or loafers for your more casual evening strolls and client meetings.

Tip 4: Wear no- fuss shoes while travelling.
Formal slip on loafers and monk straps make for the best travel footwear, so you don't have to undo and redo your laces numerous times.

These travel tips and business travel staples should easily get you through those tense and busy work trips that you have lined up. The most important tip being to relax and make the most of the trip!
