Monsoon Must – Haves

Rain, rain, go away; come again, another day…… For all those who wish such wishes, keep in mind that the cool showers are slave to none. So rather than fearing nature’s blessing, take pride in every stride by keeping in mind the following monsoon mantras:

Trench - Trendy

Trench and duster coats are a faultless choice for this quarter of year. While Trench coats are a more formal option, Duster coats are absolutely versatile, as impeccable with jeans as they are with a dress. For an androgynous look, a mid-length coat works well with washed-out denims. For a more minimalistic look, thigh length coats work best paired with a dress.

Pretty in PVC

PVC, silicon and acrylic accessories are the need of the hour. Pick from translucent candy shades to add colour to an otherwise gloomy day.  Apart from being a 100% waterproof, lightweight, efficient and absolutely trendy, these will be a good replacement for your leather accessories.
Gone are the days when raincoats were seen as cumbersome and lacklustre, this monsoon the classic transparent raincoat is in, albeit with its own fixings. The new range of raincoats is available in a vivid range of colours like never before, prints on PVC like the retro polkas or Baroque motifs.

Happy Hues

Vibrant shades of sapphire, cerulean, avocado and jade are all the rage this monsoon. Accessories in pretty pinks, sunshine yellow and orchid orange are also the best picks of monsoon. Soft pastels combined with gloomier shades of black, brown beige and tan are best for formal wear, though tints of colour peeking out provide relief to an otherwise drab outfit. While cotton is an ideal solution for the rainy season, natural silks complement the monsoon hues well while adding depth and texture to the attire.

Style Sutra

It’s time to pack away your long billowing skirts and summer dresses and opt for more sensible ensembles.Replace your denims with relaxed pyjama pants in linen or ethnic prints, and pair it up with structured tunic shirts for a good balance of professionalism and style. Though shorts and skirts remain in vogue, for a more formal look, stretchy cotton trousers in stunning colours are good options.
