Accessorize your suit.

We all know it’s important to suit up. It seems forgotten however that accessorizing is just as important as the suit itself. It could be those small simple details that keep it classy and significant. So yes, suit up! But know what adds that final element of perfection and make sure to complete your look.

Bow ties and ties
To complete your “suited- up” look, the most essential accessories are of course bow ties and ties. When it comes to picking out the perfect one, the choice of material is without a doubt what makes the difference. Experiment with the various materials and colors that suit your mood, whether it is the young and trendy knit ties and bow ties or the simple and classy linen ones.

To know about the different type of neck tie knots and how to tie them, read our previous blog “Tying the knot”.

Tie bars and tie pins

What could be better than complementing your tie with a unique tie bar or magnetic tie pin! Picking out an exclusive metal or wooden tie bar may seem simple enough but make sure you’re doing it right. The perfect tie bar covers 3/4th of the width of the tie and the sweet spot is between the 3rd and 4th shirt button. That could make a world of a difference.

Pocket squares and cravats

A tie or bow tie would go perfectly well with a pocket square. But if you don’t want to use either of the two, you could always go for the classic Ascot or cravat to go with your pocket square.

Lapel pins

Just like the tie bars, you can get as experimental as you want with the lapel pins, as long as the two complement each other. Keep either one or both simple if you must use both together.

Collar bars and collar tips

Collar bars and collar tips can be worn either with or without the tie. However, you don’t want to over- accessorize so it would be best to avoid the tie bar or even the lapel pin when the collar is being highlighted.

Cuff links

Nothing shows class like cuff links on a French cuff shirt peaking out of your suit. Pick out cuff links that go well with your best watch and you’re good to go.

Be it weddings or business meetings, these suit accessories are sure to grab attention and turn heads wherever you go. So go ahead and accessorize your suit and remember, make it simple but significant.
